Nicholas Light TV made a video called “Dear YouTube” where he addresses this copyright abuse. ‪@NicholasLightTV‬ urges YouTube to do better and punish the copyright strike abuser. Did George RR Martin Ruin Fantasy Publishing?

George RR Martin is the beloved, iconic savior of fantasy literature. Game of Thrones kickstarted a new era of fantasy storytelling on the small screen. By all accounts, his work is universally beloved.

…OR IS IT? According to some, he completely demolished the entire subgenre of epic fantasy, making it impossible to publish epic fantasies due to his failure to complete said novel. But is this true? And are the people saying this, perhaps, a little biased?

YouTube’s War on Quality Creators

YouTube was launched in April 2005, for a brief period the website was designed to be a dating platform before quickly pivoting into a prehistoric version of the video sharing site we recognize today when its creators saw how viewers were actually using it. YouTube is going down the toilet

Big changes came to YouTube already this year: new “advertiser-friendly guidelines” and a new algo. Many creators are reporting a 38-75% drop in revenue.

But this is just the beginning. Huge changes are coming for creators starting in 2027. It’s gonna be a real rough time on YouTube for most of us. And I don’t think viewers will have a better experience, either.
