Since day one on this series, commenters have been demanding that I talk about the behind the scenes of the editing, in particular about the idea that Star Wars was ‘saved in the edit’, and that Marcia, George’s first wife, was responsible for so much more than that the history books say. If I was going to do it, I wanted to do a really thorough job. What I found was a fascinating 40-year mess of anecdotes, interviews, gossip, and speculation. I’ve done my best to piece it together in a clear way, and offered my own opinion supported by the facts I could verify.
